Pre-Treatment Instructions
Please notify your facialist if you are on any medication (topical or oral), have any medical conditions, or are being treated by a physician for any conditions.
You will receive a link via sms to fill out your consultation and consent form. You can add this important information to the consultation form along with any allergies you may have.
If you have herpes simplex/cold sores or any skin infection let your facialist know as your appointment will need to be rescheduled until you have fully recovered.
No waxing, threading, plucking or hair removal cream should be used 1 week pre treatment. No retinol/skin peels/topical solutions should be used 2 weeks pre treatment.
You should wait 2 weeks after receiving botox, fillers, laser treatment, skin procedures to receive your facial treatment.
If you suffer with skin conditions and see a GP/dermatologist for your concerns you must notify them if you are having facial treatments as some conditions can worsen whilst undergoing treatment. If your GP/dermatologist advises against treatment it’s in your best interest to notify your facialist.
Discontinue the use of isotretinoin/roaccutane for 6 months pre treatment. The medication can sensitise the skin so you may be advised to wait 1 year before receiving facials depending on your skin barrier.
Do not attend your appointment wearing any make-up / jewellery and if possible remove facial/ear piercings as they can cause a risk during treatment if they are caught whilst performing the facial.
Ensure you are cleansing your face/neck twice daily, applying a moisturiser after cleansing and protecting your skin with a broad spectrum sunscreen daily.
Refrain from using any active acids / facial scrubs 72 hours pre treatment.
No fake tan to be used 1 week pre treatment or sun beds to be used 6 weeks pre treatment. This can cause skin reactions and long term damage. If you use a buildable tan in your skincare stop 2 weeks pre treatment.
Post Treatment Instructions
For best results, use a skincare routine prescribed by your facialist. Use a gentle cleanser to sooth and clean the skin, a light hydrating moisturiser, apply a broad spectrum sunscreen and re-apply every 3 hours for optimal protection.
Avoid exfoliators for 7 days post treatment and if the skin is still flaking on day 7 wait until there is no redness, flaking or discomfort before exfoliating.
Avoid excessive heat for 3 days post treatment i.e sauna, steam room, hot showers, facial steamers. Avoid workouts/gym for 24 hours post facials but if you have received a skin treatment you will be advised to wait 5-7 days before working out after treatments such as micro needling, skin peels and mesotherapy.
No waxing, threading, plucking, epilating or hair removal cream to be used for 7 days post treatment. No laser hair removal, skin procedures, botox or fillers for 2 weeks post treatment.
Avoid retinol, vitamin a, retinoids, retinols, benzoyl peroxide or active acids for 7 days post treatment unless advised otherwise by your facialist.
No fake tan to be used 1 week post treatment or sun beds to be used 6 weeks post treatment. This can cause skin reactions and long term damage.
Hygiene is important post treatment, Clean your makeup brushes/sponges/mobile phone daily. Change your pillow cases often, change your face towel /microfibre cloth twice daily. Refrain from touching your skin as this can cause cross contamination and possible skin infections. Wash your hands before starting your skincare routine.
Make-up should be avoided for 24 hours post facial or 72 hours post needling. Opt for breathable/mineral makeup if possible and remove your makeup well before going to sleep with a make-up removing solution and double cleanse to ensure there is no residue.
Use cool water to cleanse, be gentle. If the skin feels warm post treatment use a cool compress but never ice. Suggested skincare post treatment includes but is not limited to *Tebiskin Sooth clean *Sensicure cream-gel *Clinisept antimicrobial spray * Tebiskin UV sooth spf 50.
Avoid chlorinated water as this can cause dryness and skin reaction. Limit products with high levels of perfume as this can cause skin sensitivity.
Reactions from treatment may include:
- Redness
- Peeling
- Flaking
- Irritation
- Tightness
- Itching
- Tenderness
- Stinging
- Swelling
- Breakouts
Reactions/side effects typically resolve within 5-7 days but aftercare must be followed so the reaction/side effects is not prolonged. Not all treatment have side effects, this will depend on your skin barrier and the products used post treatment.
Feel free to contact your facialist for the suggested aftercare kit if your side effects are taking longer than usual to resolve and we will be happy to support your recovery.
If you think you are having an allergic reaction you must seek medical attention.
Some of the symptoms of an allergic reaction include:
- Hives
- Rash
- Severe swelling
- Irritation of the eyes nose or mouth
- Wheezing
- Anaphylaxis
All allergies must be listed on the consultation form. The occurrence of a reaction is extremely rare but if you have any of the above symptoms you must seek medical advice immediately.
PLEASE NOTE
When you book, you will receive a google maps link and a link to your pre and post treatment care. You must read the document in full as you are responsible for following the correct aftercare post treatment. Should you need any support please get in touch with your facialist.
The location is tucked away in a private studio on a residential street, look out for the wooden entrance and you will see a Cosmetology Hub buzzer to press once you arrive.
There is parking right outside the treatment room or on the road side but please do not block the neighbours driveways.
Allow 72 hours before cancelling / rearranging your appointment. If you are unwell cancel your appointment and rebook when you have fully recovered.
24 hours pre treatment you will receive a message with the link to your consultation and consent form, This MUST be filled in immediately as that information is vital for your treatment.
