Microneedling Leicester
Microneedling, also commonly referred to as Collagen Induction Therapy (CIT), is a highly effective skin rejuvenation treatment. It boosts collagen production and elastin in the skin, helping reduce the appearance of scarring, wrinkles, wounds, skin discoloration and more. The anti-ageing treatment is a great choice for rejuvenating the youthful glow and treating skin conditions.
Microneedling pierces microscopic needles into the skin and causes subtle, controlled injuries, in a safe and painless process. This kickstarts the bodies’ natural repair function. In turn, the body responds by enabling the production of collagen rich tissue allowing smoother, softer, clearer skin.
At Cosmetology Hub I use a medically licensed Derma FNS® Pen to deliver optimum results on the face or on small/medium areas. However, depending on the surface area, I may occasionally use a sterile disposable dermaroller if I feel it will deliver better results.
A customised hyaluronic acid mask is then applied increasing the skins ability to absorb active ingredients. This technique is highly effective at penetrating the much-needed goodness from specific products, into the skin and yields great results!

As a Leicester Facialist offering some of the best microneedling techniques, I am equipped with over 15 years of experience to assess your skin and tailor the treatment including any post-treatment advice, best for your skin type.

Once you’ve requested for a consultation or booked in for a treatment, you will be provided with pre-treatment advice and a list of things to stay away from. Typically it’s recommended to limit sun exposure and avoid tanning for up to 14 days. It’s also recommended to avoid skincare products with Vitamin A and retinol for up to 48 hours. If you’re unsure, feel free to contact me.
On the day of the treatment, you will run through a skin scan, assessment and fact find before proceeding with the treatment. This usually takes up to 20 minutes for first-time clients and includes everything from medical contraindications to aftercare advice before proceeding with the treatment.
After the treatment, in the majority of the cases you will not need to take any time out for recovery, the downtime is minimal. However, you experience some redness for up to 12/48 hours on sensitive skin

Microneedling can help vastly help improve the appearance of skin conditions including acne scars. The active acne will need to be treated and controlled first.
The Derma FNS® is revolutionary by SkinMed. After numerous clinical studies to prove various uses, the medical professionals Derma FNS® uses a unique motor function like no other. It retracts the needles before reinsertion, carefully allowing the pen the glide over the skin with precision and with minimal catching or trauma to the skin. It therefore delivers maximum results with minimal downtime.
Microneedling feels like tiny prickles on the surface of your skin, the pain or discomfort is minimal for most clients but depends on your skin type. For most clients it’s not painful, but may occasionally cause discomfort to sensitive skin types and leave you slightly red. Numbing cream is applied to minimise any discomfort.
The microscopic injuries are pierced between 1 and 2mm into the skin. The devices are adjustable and are typically 1.5mm per treatment, if this is too painful, we have the ability to reduce the depth if necessary, with the Derma FNS®.
By visiting Cosmetology Hub you are in safe hands. Abiding to the highest clinical hygiene standards, the treatment room along with all equipment is sterilised.
