Dermaplaning Treatment in Leicester

Dermaplane Facial also known as ‘the secret to baby-soft skin’, is a safe, painless and effective skin exfoliative treatment. The physical exfoliation is immensely rejuvenating, great for those wanting instant results and leaves your skin feeling soft, smooth and glowing, perfectly prepped for product or makeup application!

The procedure uses a sterile surgical blade to gently remove dead skin and dirt trapped inside clogged pores. It feels like ‘shaving’ the top layer of the skin and the physical exfoliation triggers cell regeneration. In comparison to a standard exfoliation, dermaplaning removes vellus hairs (peach fuzz) on the outer layer of the skin. This ensures dirt and oil, which is often trapped inside vellus hairs, are cleared off the skins surface, and hence prevents the accumulation of dirt and oil typically leading to breakouts. Unlike terminal hair, vellus hair does not regrow thicker or discoloured once removed.

Get smooth, clearer and brighter skin with Dermaplaning treatment at Cosmetology Hub in Leicester.

Dermaplaning is recommended for uneven skin texture, dull, dry or dehydrated skin. By removing the dry outter layers, dermaplaning reveals the fresh, rejuvenated skin layer – your natural look, without the dirt trapped inside vellus hair. More importantly, it allows a clear passageway for products and serums to penetrate those much-needed nutrients and antioxidants into the deeper layers of the skin. It’s also beneficial for mature skin, whereby the natural skin turnover slows down, dermaplaning would provide a boost in the cell turnover process and remove dead skin cells which contribute towards dull or discoloured skin and reveal a brighter, even complexion!

Before and After of Dermaplaning Facial at Cosmetology Hub in Leicester.
Benefits of dermaplaning

Physical exfoliation cleans the dirt stuck inside pores, removes peach fuzz and triggers the cell regeneration process. This improves the tone and appearance of your skin and allows products to penetrate where the skin needs it the most. Dermaplaning can be coupled with a list of other treatments I have on offer depending on what you’re trying to achieve.

Who is Dermaplaning for?

Dermaplaning is for anybody looking to achieve brighter, clearer complexion. If your skin dry, uneven, rough or dull, this treatment helps resurface that into a smooth, even skin tone. It particularly helps mature skin with a sluggish cell turnover and helps minimise mild acne scarring. Dermaplaning is also safe if your pregnant or lactating clients who cannot have chemical peels.

Who should avoid dermaplaning?

If you have dark, thick facial hair, or acne, oil prone skin, dermaplaning may not be best suited for you. Occasionally it irritates oily and acne skin types and if you have thick, dark facial hair, the removal of vellus hair at times can grow back and cause ingrown hairs.

How long does the treatment take?

The dermaplaning facial can take up to 1 hour. Depending on the skin assesment, it may be advisable to allow an addition 30 minutes for any add-ons or recommendations suggested for best results.

Dermaplaning Post treatment advice

There is no downtime with dermaplaning, however on sensitive skin it may leave you slightly red, this tends to subside within hours. I will apply serums and SPF post treatment and give you some advice on how to best protect yourself against UV damage over the next couple of days for longer lasting results.
